On European scale there are two ranking systems relevant for the junior (U19) category – the BEC Junior Circuit Ranking and the BWF Junior Rankings.
BEC Junior Circuit Ranking
- is a season based ranking (from 1/1 to 31/12),
- determines the best players/pairs on the BEC Junior Circuit,
- consists of results players/pairs achieve in BEC Junior Circuit tournaments (Junior International Grand Prix, Junior International Challenge, Junior International Series and Upgraded Junior Future Series events),
- includes only European players/pairs,
- the points players/pairs win in BEC Junior Circuit tournaments count also towards the BWF Junior Rankings.

BWF Junior Rankings
- are used for seeding purposes for BEC Junior Circuit tournaments and for all other BWF sanctioned tournaments in the junior category, including European Junior Championships,
- are a continuous 52 weeks ranking,
- determine the best junior players/pairs in the world,
- consist of results players/pairs achieve in any BWF sanctioned tournaments in the junior category and/or up to three BWF sanctioned World Ranking tournaments (elite category),
- include players/pairs from all continents,
- a maximum of 7 best results achieved during the last 52 weeks can count towards the BWF Junior Rankings.
