The ‘Official Bidding Document’, the overview of the ‘Allocations and Indicative Rights Fees’ as well as the ‘Application form’ can be downloaded from the same page.

B. Applying for a Circuit tournament

Member Associations (or other private or corporate bodies) interested in organising an U17, Junior or Elite Circuit tournament can find the relevant information and sanction applications in the Join the Circuit section of Badminton Europe´s website.

3. Events sanctioning process

The international badminton calendar is governed by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). Badminton Europe (BEC) will be the link between its Member Associations and BWF when having Championships/Circuit tournaments sanctioned.

Some of the most important prerequisites for an event to be successfully sanctioned usually are:

  • the sanction application being submitted through the applicant's Member Association as a guarantee,
  • the sanction application fulfilling all the required criteria and complying with the BEC Regulations and the BWF Regulations.

A. Sanction of Championships

The Member Association wishing to organise Championships must fill out the official ‘Application form’ on paper and submit it to Badminton Europe.

Once the organiser is selected and a contract specifying the deliveries and financial terms of the Championships is agreed upon and signed by Badminton Europe and the Organisers, Badminton Europe is responsible for obtaining the sanction for the agreed dates from BWF.

B. Sanction of Circuit tournaments

In case of Elite, Junior and U17 Circuit tournaments the Member Association wishing to organise a tournament must either fill out the ‘Sanction form’ online (Elite and Junior Circuits), or submit the ‘Sanction form’ on paper (U17 Circuit). Badminton Europe will then approve the tournament and forward the ‘Sanction form’ for final approval to BWF (Elite and Junior Circuits) or sanction the tournament directly (U17 Circuit).

The sanction fee for inclusion in the BEC Elite Circuit is 500,00 EUR plus 10% of the prize money and is payable immediately after receiving the respective invoice by Badminton Europe.

The sanction fee for inclusion in the BEC Junior Circuit is 500,00 EUR and is payable immediately after receiving the respective invoice by Badminton Europe.

The sanction fee for inclusion in the BEC U17 Circuit is 250,00 EUR and is payable immediately after receiving the respective invoice by Badminton Europe.

The minimum prize money for Elite Circuit tournaments from 2018 onwards is:

  • International Challenge        25.000 USD
  • International Series             10.000 USD
  • Future Series                               0 USD

Once approved, the tournament will be added to BWF‘s international calendar and Badminton Europe‘s respective calendar(s).
